After throwing 38 pitches in the fifth and surrendering five runs, Gerrit Cole made quick work of the bottom of the Dodgers’ lineup. It appears his night is done and the Yankees will go to the bullpen with the top of the Dodgers lineup coming up in the seventh.

8:38 p.m. — Volpe continues his momentum from last night’s decisive grand slam, sending a double into left to get himself into scoring position. Wells is up next, and he grounds into Freeman, allowing Volpe to advance to third.

The life cycle is self-explanatory: sign up for a case, travel between locations questioning witnesses, obtain warrants, and make arrests, and you have approximately a week to do so. The options you can do in each location are the same: you can question witnesses, look up evidence reports, or contact Crime Net to receive additional information about the suspect such as features, hair and eye color, auto, and sport. If you’re lucky, you can contact other informants like Bart Samson and Vinnie the Squealer.

Arguably the best non-puzzle educational game out there, it is both informative and fun to play. Part of what makes it so fun is the humor involved, because it is styled as a parody of the cheesy detective movies of the 1930’s. Any parent playing this with their child will have as much fun as the child does. There was an educational television show based on it as well. The Deluxe Edition was just the original with slightly better(SVGA instead of VGA)graphics, with an atlas and world almanack included in the box. In my opinion, it was more fun than the enhanced version.

Locations include (but not limited to) Kathmandu, Dar-es-Salaam, Baghdad, Manila, Lima, Port Moresby, Singapore, New Delhi, and Tokyo. You can also travel to ACME HQ in San Francisco, but the only thing you can do is start a new case, or assign a new detective.

Some may be surprised to see Sekiro not included in games listed in the number three spot. The truth is, while Sekiro is also a FromSoftware release, it’s not a ‘Souls’ game. While it shares many similarities with Dark Souls, Elden Ring, etc, this is a hard-as-nails single-player-only adventure. In a Souls game, you can summon allies to help you take down a difficult boss, essentially letting them share the load. However, in Sekiro, players either “git good” or they die trying – many times.

That being said, it’s the first Dark Souls game that deserves accolades when it comes to difficulty. The title took the Demon’s Souls formula and made it even harder, and bleaker, and filled its dark world with so many masochistic delights it would make a Cenebite blush. Elden Ring may have taken the series into the light, but it was Dark Souls that enveloped players in FromSoft’s addictive shroud.
