The gameplay includes shootouts, robberies, hunting, horseback riding, and interactions with non-player characters. Players must also manage their character’s honour rating by making moral choices and undertaking deeds.

Before breaking the game open in the eighth inning, the Yankees had only five hits and the bottom of their lineup had driven in their first seven runs, but it worked. On a night when staying alive was the only thing that mattered, the Yankees finally got the big hit they needed, then managed to add on until the game was well out of reach.

Star wars open world game
We received a ten-minute walkthrough at Ubisoft Forward 2024 which shed more light on what we can expect from in-game. The trailer begins with what looks like a stealth-based scenario, where Kay is seen navigating an enemy-infested location with Nix. We also get to see several potential actions you can use to help carry out your objectives, like using Nix to distract potential threats while you move.
Swiftly following this, we are taken through Kay getting seen which triggers a high-speed chase and some intense combat. As we come into contact with a few of her pursuers, time appears to slow down, allowing Kay and Nix some time to plan their moves. After a quick shootout, we are taken to the smuggler town of Jaunta’s Hope.
This dynamic duo is undoubtedly one of the best elements of Outlaws. Kay is a fantastic addition to the already expansive galaxy — a rogueish character with a heart of gold and obvious parallels to Han Solo who still manages to forge her own unique identity by being funny, witty, and a bit naive. Nix is possibly one of the greatest companion characters in the history of video games. He’s cute, charming, and integral to not just the story but Outlaw’s entire approach to gameplay. A few equally memorable colorful characters the duo them along the way, like the bitingly sarcastic battle droid ND-5.
“Kijimi, the frozen wasteland – that’s a city, but it’s the city of thieves,” Gerighty explains. “It’s a large city, it’s incredibly detailed, feels completely different to play. Akiva: lush jungle with rivers lakes. You’ll find an upgrade for your speeder that’ll allow you to drive on water. So that opens up the world in a completely different way as well. Every planet has a different size, a different approach, and a different gameplay kick to it.”
Speaking of hacking, I’m an instant fan of Outlaws’ takes on lockpicking and computer “slicing.” Kay picks locks using the same twisty key device that we always see R2D2 open doors with, but Ubisoft has gamified that tech into a quick rhythm minigame. As the concentric circles of gears rotate, you listen for beeps, remember the rhythm, then repeat it a few times to beat the lock. Slicing is even better—in a stroke of borrowed genius, hacking in Outlaws is basically a miniature version of Wordle with symbols instead of letters. Toward the end of my demo, I followed a quest that led to a slicing tech upgrade that unlocked a harder version of the minigame with more symbols.
The decision was made to set Outlaws between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (the second and third films in the original trilogy) because it’s a time when “the underworld is thriving.” Gerighty explained: “When we were starting off the discussions with Lucasfilm, it was very clear that the one-year period between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, that’s where the Rebels aren’t part of the picture. The Empire’s taking more and more control, but the syndicates, they’re taking more power, they’re exploiting all of these weaknesses. So it really is a moment where the underworld is thriving and there’s no better situation for an established or a rookie scoundrel to cut their teeth than this particular moment.”
